Here is a radio show we did back in September on the Wake the Town radio show at KUSF San Francisco featuring Bryan Martin and Paul Morton of Rhygin Records. It includes interview commentary and sound selections with some background about the Rhygin players and the label.
Sorry for the delay in updating, here is Podcast number 5 in the series, A live set from from 2000 or 2001 with only a little bit of overlap from previous sets.
Mostly reggae and dub on this one not much rocksteady or ska era music. 80kbps mp3 in mono.
Here is the last bit of the first series of Podcasts from Upsetter night. Starts with some Bob tunes, Ethiopians, some Harry J, the excellent 12 inch (fast tempo) version of Tosh’s Stop that Train. Lots of good reggae and rocksteady on this one, it is mostly upbeat dancable tunes as I remember there were people on the dancefloor this night so we did not play alot of dub.
Installment number 3 in the continuing Black Ark Rhygin Sound reggae podcast series.
DJ’s on this one are Erin, Shawn and Paul.
This one has some old rocksteady, some Scratch Upsetter tunes, as well as some dub and other nice vocal tracks, the prince buster tune is one of his most outlandish. Because of the slackness of it, I deem this one not safe for work or kid
Black Ark and Rhygin records reggae podcast number 1
This one is live from the Mad Dog in the Fog in San Francisco, it was recorded off the sound board to a sony MZR 90 in Mono in 2000 or 2001. It’s about two hours of tunes, if you want to know what tune you heard leave a comment for the time it played and I will tell you the song.
